About Us

Improving Quality of Life

The Hayakawa Mental Health Clinic Issha is focused on Quality of Life. Dr. Norika Hayakawa is an English-speaking certified psychiatrist, a designated psychiatrist, and an occupational physician specializing in child and adult psychiatry.

The clinic aims to provide therapeutic care to those dealing with a wide range of mental health issues while keeping in mind that mental health is part of physical health. Our philosophy is to seek the most effective and least invasive treatment while helping patients maintain a healthy life. Routine checkups are used to monitor physical and mental health and to adjust therapy as needed in consultation with the patient.

About Our Clinic

Primarily we treat the symptoms of a variety of mental issues such as anxiety, depression, sleep deprivation, ADHD, ADD, ASD, workplace stress, situational anxiety, and a range of issues that prevent people from living a mentally healthy lifestyle. Therapy is primarily pharmacological, although we also prescribe herbal medicine and can refer English-speaking patients to a local psychologist for talk therapy.

Initial consultations are 30 minutes long and are aimed at understanding the underlying cause of the mental health issue and devising an appropriate pharmacological treatment if necessary. Subsequent consultations are 10 minutes long and are used to monitor progress and to determine if the medications and dosage prescribed are suitable.

While the initial visits will be scheduled within one or two weeks, subsequent consultations will be further apart depending on the situation and what medications, if any, are prescribed.
